TB4Health joins the National Network of Test Beds

The TB4Health project was one of the consortia selected for the National Network of Test Beds (NNTB), a program funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), which aims to support companies to developing and testing new products, from clinical solutions to new digital tools. NNTB will provide easy access to technological resources for pilots by start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that need to prototype and test their ideas for services and products at intermediate stages of development.

TB4Health, a test bed made up of health units such as the Coimbra Local Health Unit (LHU), the Santa Maria LHU, and the Lusíadas Saúde Group, as well as the companies Complear and Medtronic, aims to speed up and facilitate the arrival on the market of new technological and digital solutions in the health sector, by sharing the complementary infrastructures of each of the partners for testing and validation. TB4Health also has partnerships with the Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) DigiHealthPT, led by Health Cluster Portugal (HCP), in a joint effort by the national sector to support digital innovation in the health sector.

The health sector has a high strategic value for national development. However, this sector presents significant barriers when it comes to innovation and validation of concepts, given the regulatory requirements and the high costs associated with validation. TB4Health is committed to reducing these barriers and validating at least 60 pilot projects by 2025, effectively accelerating the transfer of ideas from paper to the field, where they are most needed.
